BOATING
With roughly 40,000 acres of clear, deep waters, Richland
Chambers is perfect for boating of all kinds. Each year Richland Chambers
holds an annual Sailing Regatta. Many of the residents within the
Wilderness keep their sail boats, ski boats, fishing boats inside their own
boat houses. Some like to cruise around in their pontoon boat and watch
the sunset.
FISHING
Jimmy Houston (Famous TV Fishing Expert) said Richland Chambers fishing is so good, "it could be the next Lake Fork for fisherman." Richland-Chambers is still a new lake - it was opened to motorized boat traffic in 1989. This area of Texas has fertile soil and was famous for cotton yields many years ago. This rich soil is important for the production of forage for the fish population. About 80% of the lake area was cleared before filling, but 8000 acres of timber were left to provide cover for fish. These factors, along with the sheer size of the lake, create the potential for trophy game fish.
MAIN SPECIES: Largemouth Bass, White Bass (Sand Bass), Black Crappie, White Crappie, Channel Catfish, Blue Catfish.
OTHERS: Bluegill, Redbreast Sunfish, Redear Sunfish, Hybrid Striped Bass.

SKIING
Looking out from the Wilderness you see the largest part of the
Lake. You can leave your boathouse to ski, and most likely will never come
near another boat. Some other lakes are so crowded its hard to ski or
wakeboard. Many of the Wilderness residents have their own ski boats and
Sea Doos for Lake Fun.
